Weekend activities!! :)

Li Ka Wing Karen ( - attached to Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
Today, we went to the zoo, we saw lots of valuable animals, like polar bears, tigers etc. In Hong Kong, we don't have a chance to see lots of animals since Hong Kong doesn't have any zoos. This zoo is fantastic. If I have a chance, I will visit it again.
Beverley Lee ( Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
Today Chor May and i went to the Singapore Zoo together with our buddies. We went there and took alot of interesting photos of animals and had lots offun...Although it was raining today we still had a great time. We went for my NDP training today. It rained in the noon, so we are not allowed to march at Marina and we stay in the exhibtion hall at Suntec to rest. Luckily it did not rain during the NE show in the evening and Yung Ka watched the parade. After that, we saw the fireworks on our way back home.

Racial Harmony Day ! Team building ! Sandcastle building!

Benjamin Oh (Tampines Sec Sch)
It was totally cool ! :DThe sandcastle building totally rocks :D We have learnt how to make sandcastles, ranging from short, to big, marvelous looking buildings. We have also learnt that teamwork is the most important, from helping to get the water, helping to build a stronger base,it has all shown that teamwork is very important and it is impossible to do everything by 1 person alone. Understanding each other, cooperating with each other, communication between one and another, are all very important in everyone's life. Friends are important for each and everyone of us.Without them, our life wouldn't be completed. Although our finishing sandcastle wasn't really that great, we were all happy to have known each other! :D

Lee Jin Wei (Yio Chu Kang Sec) & Chow Nok To (Chiu Lut Sau Memerial SS)
Today, the both of us learnt that building sandcastles is more difficult than it actually seems. All the scooping and pouring and mixing and so on and so forth really tired the both of us. The objective was to design a castle suitable for the Harry Potter movie .Our first attempt to try and construct the cone on top of the castle ended in failure as the sand wasn't wet enough and this caused it to crumble. This temporary setback allowed the other team to clinch the fifty points leap start. With such a short timing, we hastily constructed a rather rough looking castle and to our greatest relief it stood. Also a few of our containers cracked during the process, making the construction time stretch much longer as the cracks meant that the structure may not stand as it was not compacted enough during the filling time. After the sand castle building, we were allowed to leave early as we had a concert to attend. Lloyd and Jon car-pooled with us. On the whole, we were as tired as a dog.

Fadzhana Manaf (Yio Chu kang Sec School)
Today is the day we celebrate racial harmony in Singapore. I was looking forward to this event as we Singaporeans have different religions and races. I wanted to tell my buddy all about racial harmony day but as a student leader, I have to do my duty at the canteen so I don't really spent time with her. In the afternoon, at the beach, I had lots of fun building sand castle for the second time. I learn more about the importance of teamwork today.

Eugene Pang (Yio Chu kang Secondary School)
Today my buddy and I celebrated racial harmony in school. I brought my buddy around the school to show him how the different races celebrate their cultures. After school we went to East Coast Park to build sand castle. It was fun working together with ny other friends to build a wonderful castle. It was really a fun and enjoyable day.

Jan Wing Yan ( Chiu Lut Sau Memorial S S - attached to Serangoon Garden School)
The friday in Singapore. This is the first day i go to 2E3.It's tatally different with the class i went before. They are quite quiet during the lessons.
Today is sooooooo special. For the rest time. There are some little shops for selling the food from different countries.I loved the Curry Chicken. It's very nice.We also went to the hall today for the inter-house drama competition.Um,,,it's so different with the Hong Kong's one. This one had a little bite.........is that i dont know what were they doing. It looked like rehoso not the competition. After school,we went to East Coast Park to ply the sand.Of cause, not just play.We had to make a castle.I totally know what team work mean today. At first,we didnt know what design we had, what are we going to do and we dont know each other. After it,our product was very ugly and going to collape, but we know each other more.I think that's why we had this activity.

Guys and gals... Want to share your views about your buddy? Let them know how much you love and appreciate them!

Tan Zhong Wei ~ Geylang Methodist School(Secondary)
Only a few days after the HK-SG exchange programme and i found out that gabriel's not a bad guy. Looking at all the other buddies, i feel kind of blessed. Gabriel's been very kind and is very good with manners. " thank you, your welcome, etc." keeps coming out of his mouth over and over again. This made a very good impression on both me and my family. Gabriel is also good enough to teach me french! HE's very talented I think, in languages and in music. He also seems very disciplined. I want to know more about him and i think it's very blessed to have him as my HK-SG exchange programme buddy.

Trip to Singapore Discovery Centre & Newater (18 July 2007 & 19 July 2007)

TSANG Jonathan Hoi Ki (Queen's College - attached to Yio Chu Kang Secondary School)

I went to school with Lloyd again today. We had English,Geography and other lessons. I enjoyed English class very much because I think the teacher is quite funny and she made the class much interesting than the others. Then, we went to the NEWater. It was good - it shows how domestic waste water can be transformed into drinkable water. The process to do it is actually quite complicated, so I actually just understood some of it. Later, we went into a room to watch a short video which showed the process so I understood better. The best thing is we all got a new bottle of NEWater; it is alright, a bit sweeter than the usual one.

Jethra Chan (Tampines Sec)
i am pleased to say that Wanita and i have gotten to know each other a lot more and we are talking well with each other almost like as if we were best friends if you ask me. i've learnt that she is very hardworking and so are her parents, who take extra couses just like Singaporeans on top of their jobs to enrich their skills. i've also learnt that in Hong Kong they have worser land sarcity problems than in Singapore.
Today we went to visit the Singapore Discovery Centre. It was very interesting as they got to see our military training area and understand more in depth about our different ethic groups. i'm having a great time despite my very busy schedule in school due to my involvement.

Benjamin Oh Ren Hao (Tampines Sec)
School was usual today. We met Sean & Steven at the MRT Train and went to school together.School was boring, according to them :D (kind of applies to me) (had 4 periods of chemistry =X)Left class at 1.10pm =X Missed half of my History lessons .. ):Left our bags at the General Office, and went to eat lunch.Oh ya, did i mention that Steven can eat a lot? Hahas. (It's a great point, ok?)Went onboard the bus, Lok Yan was tired =XPlayed here, chatted there.I was being "tortured". By Sean, Lok Yan & STEVEN But it was still fun right ? x)Arrived at Singapore Discovery Centre and was given a little tour. The place was cool, and we went together in groups (Me, Sean, Kelly, Sherline and our Hong Kong buddies)Visit this and that, that and this. And soon, it was time to go home ):On board the bus, most of us were tired. Especially Lok Yan =X He fall asleep :DI napped a while, and after which, chatted with the other peeps. and YAY. We reached school. Had a nice LOOOONG day =X And now, im TIRED .

Leonard Teo Min Xuan (Tampines Sec)
Today I have lots of fun in school, it is very amusing in my class as many great things happened. Although me and Donald are very tired as we did not sleep well, we manage to pull through the day. I was dismissed at 1+ and did not join my class for swimming lesson, so me and Donald decided to wait at the foyer tables till 1.20. Time flies and i shall bring the time a little foward to the NEWater factory which is what Jonathan called as the waste(our droppings) water park. Kinda bad, huh? But we can’t blame him as many people know that is what it is about. I am VERY fascinated by the high technology they use in there just to get a clean glass of water and i will conserve the water around me now.

Akmalina Zuhrah (Tampines Sec)
We learnt a lot from the Newater plant. We learnt about how water in Singapore is reused to supply Singapore with sufficient water to survive. The process was fascinating!
We then went shopping at Tampines Mall and Century Square with Jethra and her buddy. The 2 HK girls were excited to start shopping. It was cute to see them running around all so excited.

Lee Jin Wei Darren & Patrick Chow Nok To(Yio Chu Kang Secondary Sch & Chiu Lut Sau memorial SS)

NEWATER PLANT - 18 July
The Newater tour was informative and interesting. It's amazing that they manage to incorporate a viewing area in a factory. The tour guides provided us with interesting facts about this newly opened plant which uses state of the art technology to filter our everyday drinking water. Inside, there was even a glass floor fountain that was fifthteen meters deep, equipped with lights. It looked spectacular and could change color like a lizard. As we proceeded onwards , the different exhibits helped us to unnderstand how this complex system of filters actually works. The filters look a lot like the baleen of a whale although the guide said it looked more like spaghetti. One of the exhibits enlarged the particles to scales of a tennis ball, a soccer ball, a truck and a shopping centre. We feel that this makes it easier for children to relate to this. There was even a game area where you could test your knowledge about the different uses of water and how to conserve it. We enjoyed ourselves.

SINGAPORE DISCOVERY CENTRE - 19 July 2007 Today, we visited the Singapore Discovery Centre. This huge complex can accommodate around four thousand soldiers. Around the facility, there are retired a-4 skyhawk aircraft aircraft and old un-used British tanks. There is a training complex where they train solders to be colonels and other higher ranking officers. We saw a few soldiers doing basic foot drills and marches. In the middle stands a tall tower with over two-hundred steps. Upon reaching the top, the only way down is by a scaling down the roof. There's a huge library which boast over a few hundred books. In the main complex, there is a cinema where you can catch the latest movies in 3D. There are different sorts of games which teach different value s, all which are important. It's a very innovative way to teach values in games rather than preaching them from a book. Unfortunately, we are unable to present any photos as picture taking was not allowed in the main gallery. Another interesting place is the shooting rang. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.

Leung Chi Loi (Tsuen Wai GSS)
We played many exciting games at the discovery center today. We played a game related to Enterprising. There was also a game digitally projected on a wheel where 5 to 7 people can play at the same time it was really challenging though as everyone had to work together to get the ball to the goal. The SAFTI bus ride was interesting too as we saw the army camp of future SAF officers which was very nice as I saw many monuments that represented the SAF and there were many outstanding structures there too

Tang Yi Ting (Belilios Public Sch)
I feel tired today. I really want to have more time to sleep. We have lessons with a broken teacher desk in front of me. It looks funny. I've learnt new things, such as science and geography. I 've no idea what the science lesson teach. I've never learn about atom and ion. But I am going to have a test tomorrow, so good luck to me!The Singapore Discovery Centre was really fun. The games are perfect. I hope I can come back with my family next time!

Wong Lok Yan (South Tuen Mun GSS)
Today I studyed about the whole day until the last period. After studying , we went to the Discovery Centre and played the games there. After playing,we grouped together. While we were grouping, an unlucky things happened on me----a bird shit on me,Ms Ho said I was lucky but I don't think so.=.="

LEUNG Wing Yi (Chiu Lut Sau Memorial SS - attached to Yio Chu kang Sec)
This afternoon , we went to the NEWater Visitors' Centre. I learnt about water and how important it is. The use of NEWater has helped to solve Singapore's water problem. I think this kind of visit is very educational and helps me to learn a lot .

Hoe Wai Yi (Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch) & LEUNG Kei Yan Karen (South Tuen Mun GSS)
After the morning assembly we had a PE lesson and played basketball. It was very hot felt and we felt tired. We also had some fun time. After that we had Maths and we cut some paper in different shapes. During recess we ate a bowl of noodles each. It tasted delicious.... after the recess we had science lesson. We learnt the differences between reflection and refraction. Finally during the Home Economic lesson we learned how to bake a cake. The activity was fun and exciting. In the afternoon we visited NEWater. The speaker was jovial and we enjoyed ourselves.

Eugene Pang (Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch)
Today we visited the Singapore Discovery Centre. It was better after it was renovated . It has more exhibits than the last time. Now I know more about Singapore history and things that people have invented.

Mak Yung Ka (Yuen Long Public S S -attached to Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
Tan Siew Leng (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
We went to the Discovery Center today. It is quite far away from our school. I have been there before but this the first time for Yung ka to visit it, she said that it was bigger then she thought. We have been to the shooting gallery to see some people to play the shooting games, and it liked a real war game. And had fun today.

Shanice (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
today we went to the NewWater VC. had about one hour tour. i get to know more about the processes of the water from newater. i've learned something today [:

Emily (Clementi Sec Sch)
It was my fifth day in the Singapore. I still went to school, but it had different lesson to learn. In thereading time, teacher gave us a paper. It was some song on it. And we sang together. Then, we had science lesson and maths lesson. After these lesson, it wasart lesson. Some classmates told me that my picturewas so cute, I was so happy about that :) But todayhad something that I felt sad :(, and I want to saysomething to all the people,"Marco is not myboyfriend!!!"I think it's not a joke.

Joycelyn Soh(Yio Chu kang Sec Sch) Today's trip to NEWater VC was fun and educational. The NEWater is different from the water that we usually drink. Its taste sweeter and nicer. Through the trip, I get to know more about how the water ( from the rivers, lakes and seas ) is processed and made into drinkable water. =D

Thurs 19th...We went to the Singapore Discovery Centre and had a tour around it today. It was actually quite interesting but at the same time, boring. The thing that I like most is the talking robot ( i forgot the name..=X ). He can answer any questions you ask him and also joke with you. Overall, the trip was fun though.

Li Ka Wing Karen (Tsuen Wan GSS - attached to Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
We went to the Discovery Centre today, the factilities inside were new. I saw many funny things there.comThe centre was really bug and this required technology. I admored Singaporeans. I enjoyed it.
I hope that I can visit the centre again.

Yik Man Ting (South Tuen Mun GSS-attached to Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
When we have the morning assembly, we need to sit on the ground.I'm not usedto sitting on the ground.I think I can accept it later! Our first lesson isMother Tongue, this is the only lesson that I can hear clearly and understandit. In the afternoon,we go to NEWater VC,it's far away from our school. In theNEWater Vc I can know a lot about how Singaporeget the water resources.Wevisit it for about two hours, then we go back to school. From Irene

Wong Pei Ting (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
We had Science test today. It was ok for me. Today Ms Lee and other teacherscame to our class to take some pictures. Then we went to the NEWater VC.This is my second time going there. There is nothing much to do there. So itwas quite boring for me. But I also learnt how reuse the water and the processes.

Valerie Chang (Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch) our school organised a trip to NEWater Plant. I've learnt how advance Singapore is. It's my first visit to the NEWater Plant. I think it's useful and enjoy the talks and video clips shown. In my opinion, I think it's interesting and the speaker has alot of humour which made everything so fun today.

Yeung Wing In (Chiu Lut Sau Memorial SS - attached to Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch)
I learnt the process of making NEWater and its advantages.Fristly, I didn't enjoy the show but later, I thought it was quite interesting and useful. The speaker was also humourous. All the friends talked in the bus and I understood them more.

On the19th July, I went to The Singapore Discovery Center. It is huge and beautiful. I took a lot of fantastic photos. However, the talk was a little bit boring. It was just something about the development of Singapore ,etc. Fortunately, I had lots of fun during the free time, like taking photos and walking around The Discovery Center. Anyway, it was a nice day

Sandy Wang (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
hello, we visited the NEWater visitor centre. it was boring, as i expected yesterday. the weather was extremely hot today and everyone they were busy fanning themselves. as usual (i remembered everything), i knew we would sitdown and watch a lil' movie about water... yea yea, it was boring! i don'twanna go back there again! i look extremely forward to the east coasttrip... btw, the 'shkep blog was'nt updated. i do hope the teachers wouldhurry update pls!!! toddles :) )

Beckie Ho(Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
Today we went to the NEWater visitor centre. It was very big and see some videos about water o singapore. It was a nice day.

Mak Yung Ka (Yuen Long Public S S -attached to Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
Tan Siew Leng (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
We went to Newater Visitor Centre today after school. And we learnt about the process of producing Newater. In the middle of the trip, we got to try out the taste of it. It was not my first attempt drinking it, but it was for Yung Ka. She does not get used to drinking the and feels that there is a weird taste in it, and i agree too. After this meaningful trip, we learn to treasure the water as we decided not to waste anymore of it and ended up drinking Newater.

Lydia Yong (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
Today, we went to Singapore Discovery Centre after attending a fewlessons in school... Everything was fine but we had a very long day...Therefore, I am very tired... haha... hope I can get more sleep tomorrow asit would be a shorter day for us... Though its my first time going to theSingapore Discovery Centre, I enjoyed this trip... =) I love the games thatwe tried and the shows we watched... we toured around the SAFTI MI too...haha... I realised that I had been there a few years back... =) it looks so familiar... lol... overall, I had enjoyed myself and look forward to ournext outing... =)

Tan Siew Leng (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
it was because i am burning the midnight oil. i was revising for my biology test yesterday and yungka was watching a scv movie with my family. and there will be another midnight oil burning tonight for the geography test.

Joyclyn (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
Today, we went to Singapore Discovery Centre. It was a rather long journey as it is located in Tuas. We had a tour around SAFTI. That was not my first time there as that was my brothers camp. Getting to go to Singapore Discovery Centre once again was a good experience. Singapore Discovery Centre had also changed alot. The difference I noticed between the Singapore and Hong Kong students is that they pay more attention to the teacher compared to the Singaporean students. Maybe its because they do not understand everything the teacher said as it was in english. My buddy is also ALOT quieter compared to us. I guess it is because she is not too used to the new environment.

Poon Kin Kwan (Minnie) (Tsuen Wan G S S - attached to Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
Today is the second day for me to study in Pasir Ris Crest Secondary School and I began to feel that it was really quite fun to study here. At first, I didn't have many friends and it made me feel very lonely. But now, I had much more friends than before and I felt much better to study here.
Today, in the afternoon, we went to the Singapore Discovery Centre to have a visit there. In the Discovery Centre, we saw many things about Singapore and we also played many games. I think that it was really fun to visit there and I love the games there very much. They were extremely fun, especially the robot--Little George. I found it so amusing that it really knew how to respond people.
I feel very happy today becauseI think that I am getting to be involved in class and I hope that in the following few days, I can become good friend of everyone and have the most memorable time I ever have. >v< Leung Wai Shan (Tin Shui Wai G S S - attached to Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
today was my 4th day in singapore ...today we went to discovery centre...i had fun over there.

Choi Wut Luen Lilian (South Tuen Mun GSS - attached to Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
I miss my home so I cried.
Today,we were going to Newater.
It's comfortable because there has air-con.
yo I also tired when we came school.

Shanice (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
i had a great day today at the singapore discovery centre . the kaya & butter buns over there are nice. [:

Marcus Tay (Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch),
Ng Ka Wai (Queen's College - attached to Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch)
today we visited the NewWater factory. There we saw many appealing and interesting things that kept both of us very very very very interested. we saw how our waste water like our urine and other unwanted liquid substances that we can obtain could be turned into pure drinking water, refined till its best.... However, there was a boy named kwan wai yu that kept disturbing us throughout the whole magical experience with such an interesting topic. Such chances do not come by everyday, therefore, we should cherish every second to the fullest, but we were appaled at his behaviour at the NewWater plant... but us, being very kind souls, we will forgive his childish and inmature acts...

First Day in School - officially! ( candid shots)

Top: This is the first time for the Hong Kong Students in local schools...
Li Ka Wing & Cheng Yu Lo ( Tsuen Wan GSS) are in Serangoon Garden Sec Sch , class 2E2. They sure look like they are enjoying themselves!
Below : This is Jan Wing Yan from Chiu Lut Sau Memorial S S. She is actively participating in the lessons and warmly helping her buddy (Liau Tze Hui , Serangoon Garden Sec Sch). The Science teacher remarked that she is impressed by Wing Yan's proactive and positive learning attitude!

Jan Wing Yan (Chiu Lut Sau Memorial S S - attached to Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
The third day in Singapore.Today,we have to go to school, the teacher introduced us to the all students. But,lots of them laughed at me.I thought did i do something wrong?and now i know the reason.I also have a question to ask,is that all the buddies are in 2E 1,2 or 3 but just only Tze Hui is in 2A3.Is there any difference?? the teachers are nice, the classmates are great also.Lots of them are indian, this is the first time i talk with the indian. After school, I went shopping with Ho Wai Shan and her buddy, also her friends. We went to a shopping center, there is so nice.I bought something there, just a bottle of water,i bought it because the bottle is sooooooooooo cute.I Love It!!!!!After it,Li Yee's friend took me home, she is really nice, she also took me to buy the SIM card of the cell phone. And now,is chatting with mom and going to take a shower~

How Sherlene (Tampines Sec)
I went to school with my buddy for the first time today. I was very tired that day and couldn't concentrate during lessons.I introduced many classmates to my buddy. We learnt many cantonese words from her. After school we went for lunch at century square to walk .It was a really tired day.

Ho Wan Tung (Belilios Public Sch)
Today was the first day to have lessons with Jethra's class. Her classmates were kind to me. There were boys in the class, lessons were more noisy then mine in Hong Kong. However, the boys were quite funny and interesting. They brought fun and joy in class.
Lessons were different from Hong Kong's. We hadn't got the Civics and Moral Education lessons. It was fresh to me.
I felt good in this class. I hoped to stay longer in this school~

Leung Chi Loi (Tsuen Wai GSS)
Today is the first day I have lessons in Tampines Secondary School. The first three periods were Chinese. I learnt “但願 人 長 久” during the lessons. Fortunately, my Mandarin is not bad. Therefore, I could understand what the teacher said. Then, we had two free periods because our teacher was invigilating an ‘O-LEVEL’ examination in school. I introduced myself during the free time. The class showed hospitality towards me and I felt happy and surprised as I thought that they would not befriend me as I was from a foreign country and did not know any of them at all. Today I really enjoyed myself in school and Hong Kong’s school life is so much different from Singapore’s as it is not as strict as Hong Kong’s. Singapore has a much more relaxed school life.

Beckie Ho (Tsuen Wan GSS - attached to Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
Singapore's is very different to Hong Kong.In Hong Kong we also start our lesson at 8 a.m but in Singapore we start lesson too early,so we should get up too early.
In the lesson,I also feel very tried because I get up at 5:30 a.m. During lunch time we have many choices to choose which food we like best.
Although in Singapore is very happy but I miss my friends and my parents too much

Sandy Wang (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
It was the first full attachment day as my friend Beckie (TGWSS) tagged along . We woke up at 6 and hurrily took the bus at around 6.40. When wearrived, the schoolmates in school can't help staring at my friend. Laterthen, we proceeded to the parade ground to sing the national athem (...everything as usual =D ). Beckie commented that the lesson was rather boringand i must agree. Miss Tan and Miss Kamath didn't come to school thus wehave alot of free period, maybe that's the reason why too. I had CCA (i play cello in school) today so Beckie had to come along too. We rounded up todaywith a small shopping spree at White Sands Shopping mall to get some things.I do hope the Science Discovery Centre trip will be fun tomorrow. :)

Poon Kin Kwan Minnie (Tsuen Wan GSS - attached to Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
Today is my first day to study in Pasir Ris Crest Secondary School and I think I really have a memorable time at school. In the morning, I have recived a piece of paper about writing a Chinese essay. They said that this was the thing that they had to do on every Tuesday. I found it very interesting because I never have something like this in Hong Kong. Then, we had a Chinese and Mathematics lesson. I learnt a lot of things that I haven't learnt in Hong Kong and I think it's great fun.Later, we had a recess. I was shock when I saw all the people left the classroom when the bell rang. But later, Lydia and Benita explained to me that they were going out to eat something because they would have lunch after school. This is totally different from Hong Kong. We usually still stay in the classroom and chat with our classmates but not like the Singapore students.
After school, I went out for lunch with Lydia and her friends. It's my first time to go out for lunch with them and I think it was fun to do so. Later, we went back to school and have CCA. I just sat by the side and looked at them playing music. Although it was quite boring but I think it's still a good experience for me and of course a good time for me to listen to music. :)
Totally, I have a really great time today and I have got so many unforgetable experiences. Also, I am looking forwards to the trip of going to Singapore Discovery Centre tomorrow. I hope I can again have a nice time tomorrow. >v< Derrick Ng Zhen Wei ( Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)

Today I had a normal school day. But in fact, I should not have school day( summer holiday).Frankly, I wanted to relax, but I was not regret to attend the class. I learnt a lot of things, for example, in Science lesson, I gained some knowledge about Chemistry. It was fantastic. I loved it. I hope to have more opportunities to participate in these kinds of activities.

P/S: The Chemistry teacher from Serangoon Garden Sec Sch (Miss Agnes Mok) complimented that it was a joy to have the 2 HK students in her class!

Today is my first school day! The lessons in Singapore are really different from Hong Kong~The students there are really nice, and also the teachers. I and another Hong Kong student, Karen Li, think that the education in Hong Kong can improve more so that we can have a better future. Then my buddy took me to AMK hub, the shopping mall is just similar to HongKong's. And I have tried the chicken rice there, it's very delicious. Hope that I can sleep well tonight!

Tan Chor May (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)

Today, the 17 of July, is my first day in a Singapore School. Yio Chu kang Secondary School is really huge! There are many plants in my buddy's school. The lessons are very long for me. At lunch time, my friend and I ate a lot. The fried rice is really spicy! In the afternoon, we had NX training. We built a robot with legos. It's great and I really enjoyed myself!

On Sunday, 15 of July, I arrived at Singapore and met my buddy at Changi International Airport. My buddy and her family are so nice to me. They bought a phone card for me. I really appreciate it. Later they took me to a restaurant to eat Chicken Rice. It's really nice! However, the meal is quite expensive - it costs about $4 each. I am glad and happy that my buddy and her family treat me very well.

We had a great time there at Sentosa today. I enjoyed myself very much. It was nice meeting and going out with other friends from Hong Kong. Looking forward to the next outing with them. Bye! =)
Ho Sze Wai (Cheung Chau Govt Sec Sch)
Today is the second day of the exchange programme,i woke up at 6.15am.i went to Sentosa and took many many photos.i made many friends too. At first, i was afraid of taking the skyride and luge. But after that i enjoyed and would like to take it again.

Jethra Chan (Tampines Sec)
Today was yet another promising day with alot of ups and downs. we went to Greendale Secondary which frankly is a very new-looking school, and which pretty much resembles to my Primary school. We had a welcoming ceromony for the HK students and i got to know my buddy Wanita much more over the night and through out the day. She is quite a friendly and intellectual girl. i have learnt alot about the education system in HK. Did you know that in herschool they take 15 subjects and on top of that have to go for interviews and have to play a musical instrument in oder to enter and apply for her school? It’s quite strict and difficult if you ask me. In the second half of the day we got to go to Sentosa. We brought them to the Merlion and Images of Singapore, which i hope was an enriching time for them to understand more ofcultures of Singapore. We also had a chance to try out the Luge and Skyride. It was so fun and exciting!

Tang Yi Ting (Belilios Public School)
I had my first night in the Muslim home, it's very different from my home. They use hands to eat and they like spicy food very much. Luckily, I accept spicy food. We went to Sentosa today and I like it very much. We visited the Merlion, Images of Singapore and Skyride. And, I am looking forward to tomorrow's swimming class.

Ho Wan Tung (Belilios Public School)
Today, we woke up at 6:00am. That's very early for me, but when I thought of today's trip, I woke up immediately. There would be a trip to Sentosa! Actually, I had been there before. I know it would be a happy trip full of fun!
We had breakfast at Jethra's home, then we went to school. There was a prize giving ceremony in school after the flag raising ceremony, and Jethra got a prize for speech. Congratulations to her!
We all went to another school in Punggol for the opening ceremony. We had lunch there too. The noodle was delicious, but a little bit too spicy for me, that I couldn't eat a lot.
After the lunch, we all got to Sentosa. We first visited the Images of Singapore. It was really nice, and educational. Then we visited the Merlion. It was the largest one in Singapore, and we could walk up to its head! We also took a lot of photos there. My memory card in the camera was unluckily full, that I had to delete some of the photos.
The third activity for us was taking the Luge. This was the most exciting part, and we had waited for it for the whole day. Unluckily, our teacher told us that we couldn't take it, because of the rain. We all felt so disappointed! But when we were waiting for the bus to go for the next activity, the Luge could be played! We couldn't wait to play it!
I could felt that God is with us for our whole trip, and always bring good to us. Thanks Father God~ ^.^

Leung Chi Loi (Tsuen Wan GSS)
This afternoon, all HK students and their buddies went to Sentosa. We had enjoyed the Images of Singapore which show-cased what Singapore went through like the Japanese occupation and many other histories about how Singapore came about. We climbed up the Merlion. We all felt very amazing when we were on the top of the Merlion and saw the wonderful view. We also played the Sentosa Luge and Skyride. It’s an exhilarating ride. I had an unforgettable experience in Sentosa.

My journey with my buddy hase been wonderful. With her around, it's a great experience. Introducing food and culture was were my favourite. We provided her with the best we can give, and I think she is happy with it. She seems interested in the Sentosa trip today. But, as her waking up time is much later, she gets tired easily. Seeing her so interested in the trip, makes me feel happy as I know that Singapore is has many attractions for the tourists. She is quite shy, but at times, she asks questions freely. I think spending more time will her will enable us to know more about our families and our cultural differences. We both use dialects and I have taught her Hokkien, while she teaches me Cantonese. I think she will enjoy her stay in Singapore these two weeks.

Today is my second day in Singapore. I was woken up by Leonard's mobile phone early in the morning. I went washing and got dressed, then I woke Leonard and Norman up. They were sleeping deeply and seemed like they didn't want to wake up at all. What lazy people! We had an assembly in Tampines Secondary School. The whole school sang the National Anthem. I would like to learn singing the song so that I can join the students. After the assembly, we went to the canteen to have a briefing. We took a bus to Greendale Secondary School to participate in the Welcome Ceremony. We went to Sentosa in the afternoon. We went to the Image of Singapore first. There was a lazer show that looked 3D. At the end of the show, golden rings were shot out from the stage but, when we tried to catch them, they disappeared. After that we went to another hall. There were many wax models inside. I wanted to take photos but my camera was out of electric power. I wished I had charged my camera the previous night. We then went to the Merlion. It was chilly in the Merlion and I don't understand why the air-conditioner was set in such a cold condition. We watched a video about the name of Singapore and the Merlion. It was a bit amusing. We took an elevator to the top of the Merlion afterwards. The view there was amazing. It was sunny and I could see the blue sky and the sea clearly. That was a view that I could hardly see in Hong Kong. Leonard and I took a photo in the mouth of the Merlion. We were planning to buy a photo but when we saw the price in the souvenir shop, we decided not to. We went to play the Luge after that. It was very exciting because the cart ran very fast. Leonard drove away very fast and I could not catch up with him. We took the Skyride to get back to the starting point of the Luge. While we were on the Skyride, we saw someone sitting in front of us dropped a helmet! We got on the bus and went back to Tampines at 6 p.m.I'll never forget this trip to Sentosa.

Lai Ho Chun Samuel (Tsuen Wan GSS - attached to Geylang Methodist Sch(Sec))
Firstly, I felt very very happy and exicted today because of the wonderful trip. Personally, I like the luge most because it really exciting indeed and I have never try such thing in HK before. And the other site I like most is the Merlion, it is mainly due to its magnificent outlook, the fantastic video show inside and also the souvenirs in the shop. Those things are great and I have never seen before.

Next to The Fort Siloso, it was used to protect Singapore from Japanese invasion in the past. I saw many wax figures there and they all look lively. And the canons look powerful. Everything is great and new to me.

As about my feeling towards the Image of Singapore, I think it is a great place. We can know many things about Singapore inside it. There are many wax figures and they look beautiful and lively also. There is also a very funny person who would pretend to be a figure and scare you suddenly, that gave me a deep impression.

Generally, today's trip is marvellous.
Joel Li (Geylang Methodist School(Sec))
well, today is the first day of the activities. Sentosa trip is very interesting and fun too. First, we went to the Merlion statue and watch a short video of how the Merlion was started. Secondly, this part was the most exciting part as we get to play the luge ride and the sky ride. We had a lot of fun and we took pictures together. Thirdly, we went to the images of Singapore. We learnt many things about the history of Singapore, such as the lifestyle during the past. Lastly, we took a shuttle bus to the Fort Siloso to see and understand of why the british built the machinery at the fort siloso. And off we went back to school.
Junie Ang (Geylang Methodist School(Sec))
After a night at my house, although there wasn't much time, i felt that the bond between us was somehow, stronger than when we first met. After reaching school, we gathered together with the other Hong Kong exchange programme students. We set off for Greendale Secondary School soon after assembly ended. We also had the opening ceremony for the exchange programme. We went to Sentosa after the briefing ended. We went to the Merlion, Luge, Images of Singapore and also the Fort Siloso. The place was new to the Hong Kong students and throughout the journey, a lot of snapping of pictures was involved.

Tan Siew Leng (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch) & Mak Yung Ka (Yuen Long Public S S)
We did not have lessons today as we went to Sentosa for an outing. If only we can have outings everyday. After all the rides in Sentosa , we went to the final destination at Fort Siloso. Due to the lack of time, we could only briefly look around. But as we did not want to miss anything interesting in there, we walked as quickly as we could. And "somethinginteresting" really happened in the tunnel. We went in there and saw "something". But do not get the wrong idea of "something". We actually saw some bats flying in the tunnel, we were so afraid and ran off for our lives. It seems to be adventurous rather than an interesting trip.

Li Ka Wing (Tsuen Wan GSS)
Today, we attended the welcome ceremony and visited Sentosa. I liked the performances so much, especially the part of dancing. They cooperated well .After that, we went to Sentosa, one of the most famous attractions in Singapore. I enjoyed the Sky Ride. I could look around and I was admired by the fabulous scenery. It was totally different from Hong Kong. It was a great place.

Tan Ming Kwang (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
Today is a tiring yet adventurous day as we embarked towards the renowned 'Sentosa'. The day begins when the clock strikes 6.15am. The alarm rang and both of us woke up. We took turns to use the bathroom and then went to school. My buddy had a taste of some 'weird' typical Singaporean personality as my friend talks to him. We then went to Greendale Secondary School and get pleased by the perfomances though some mistakes were inevitable. I tried to control my laughter haha. The weather was humid and I kept sweating profusely. We then proceed to the main event, Sentosa. I have not been to Sentosa for quite some time and I was amazed at how much it had developed. I went around exploring Sentosa as my droplets of sweat rolled down my chubby face. It was a tiring day and I hope to rest earlier.

Situ Jun (Queen's College)
Today is the second day in the exchange progamme.Me and my buddy woke up at 6:15am.We finished showing and brushing our teeth, then we went to school. After that, we took bus and came to Greendale Secondary Schooland. The welcome ceremony for Hong Kong students was fascinating.Especially the drum performance.when we finished the ceremony. We went a famous tourist spot : Sentosa.
We have seen merlion, the symbol of Singapore, and learned many history about the birth of Singapore.Today, I found out that Mercedes - Benz can be a Taxi, too. It is impossible in Hong Kong, not any taxi driver can afford a Benz to be a taxi.
Tomorrow, I will have my first lesson in Singapore.Hope I can handle it the whole day.

Tan Chor May (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)

Today I first arrived the school. It is really big and is extremely different from our school in Hong Kong. And then we went to one of the most popular tourist attraction in Singapore- Sentosa. I really enjoyed the sky ride, when I came to the highest part, I saw a cap^^.

Today i'm very tired. Today's weather is very hot. My favourite place at theSentosa is the Sentosa Luge. It's my first time riding on it. The thingsthere are very expensive. I also enjoy riding on the skyride. The view isvery beautiful. It is also very windy. I was afraid the my slippers woulddrop too. That was the most relaxing place for me.
