Only a few days after the HK-SG exchange programme and i found out that gabriel's not a bad guy. Looking at all the other buddies, i feel kind of blessed. Gabriel's been very kind and is very good with manners. " thank you, your welcome, etc." keeps coming out of his mouth over and over again. This made a very good impression on both me and my family. Gabriel is also good enough to teach me french! HE's very talented I think, in languages and in music. He also seems very disciplined. I want to know more about him and i think it's very blessed to have him as my HK-SG exchange programme buddy.

Trip to Singapore Discovery Centre & Newater (18 July 2007 & 19 July 2007)

TSANG Jonathan Hoi Ki (Queen's College - attached to Yio Chu Kang Secondary School)
I went to school with Lloyd again today. We had English,Geography and other lessons. I enjoyed English class very much because I think the teacher is quite funny and she made the class much interesting than the others. Then, we went to the NEWater. It was good - it shows how domestic waste water can be transformed into drinkable water. The process to do it is actually quite complicated, so I actually just understood some of it. Later, we went into a room to watch a short video which showed the process so I understood better. The best thing is we all got a new bottle of NEWater; it is alright, a bit sweeter than the usual one.

Jethra Chan (Tampines Sec)
i am pleased to say that Wanita and i have gotten to know each other a lot more and we are talking well with each other almost like as if we were best friends if you ask me. i've learnt that she is very hardworking and so are her parents, who take extra couses just like Singaporeans on top of their jobs to enrich their skills. i've also learnt that in Hong Kong they have worser land sarcity problems than in Singapore.
Today we went to visit the Singapore Discovery Centre. It was very interesting as they got to see our military training area and understand more in depth about our different ethic groups. i'm having a great time despite my very busy schedule in school due to my involvement.
Benjamin Oh Ren Hao (Tampines Sec)
School was usual today. We met Sean & Steven at the MRT Train and went to school together.School was boring, according to them :D (kind of applies to me) (had 4 periods of chemistry =X)Left class at 1.10pm =X Missed half of my History lessons .. ):Left our bags at the General Office, and went to eat lunch.Oh ya, did i mention that Steven can eat a lot? Hahas. (It's a great point, ok?)Went onboard the bus, Lok Yan was tired =XPlayed here, chatted there.I was being "tortured". By Sean, Lok Yan & STEVEN But it was still fun right ? x)Arrived at Singapore Discovery Centre and was given a little tour. The place was cool, and we went together in groups (Me, Sean, Kelly, Sherline and our Hong Kong buddies)Visit this and that, that and this. And soon, it was time to go home ):On board the bus, most of us were tired. Especially Lok Yan =X He fall asleep :DI napped a while, and after which, chatted with the other peeps. and YAY. We reached school. Had a nice LOOOONG day =X And now, im TIRED .
Leonard Teo Min Xuan (Tampines Sec)
Today I have lots of fun in school, it is very amusing in my class as many great things happened. Although me and Donald are very tired as we did not sleep well, we manage to pull through the day. I was dismissed at 1+ and did not join my class for swimming lesson, so me and Donald decided to wait at the foyer tables till 1.20. Time flies and i shall bring the time a little foward to the NEWater factory which is what Jonathan called as the waste(our droppings) water park. Kinda bad, huh? But we can’t blame him as many people know that is what it is about. I am VERY fascinated by the high technology they use in there just to get a clean glass of water and i will conserve the water around me now.
Akmalina Zuhrah (Tampines Sec)
We learnt a lot from the Newater plant. We learnt about how water in Singapore is reused to supply Singapore with sufficient water to survive. The process was fascinating!
We then went shopping at Tampines Mall and Century Square with Jethra and her buddy. The 2 HK girls were excited to start shopping. It was cute to see them running around all so excited.

NEWATER PLANT - 18 July
The Newater tour was informative and interesting. It's amazing that they manage to incorporate a viewing area in a factory. The tour guides provided us with interesting facts about this newly opened plant which uses state of the art technology to filter our everyday drinking water. Inside, there was even a glass floor fountain that was fifthteen meters deep, equipped with lights. It looked spectacular and could change color like a lizard. As we proceeded onwards , the different exhibits helped us to unnderstand how this complex system of filters actually works. The filters look a lot like the baleen of a whale although the guide said it looked more like spaghetti. One of the exhibits enlarged the particles to scales of a tennis ball, a soccer ball, a truck and a shopping centre. We feel that this makes it easier for children to relate to this. There was even a game area where you could test your knowledge about the different uses of water and how to conserve it. We enjoyed ourselves.
SINGAPORE DISCOVERY CENTRE - 19 July 2007 Today, we visited the Singapore Discovery Centre. This huge complex can accommodate around four thousand soldiers. Around the facility, there are retired a-4 skyhawk aircraft aircraft and old un-used British tanks. There is a training complex where they train solders to be colonels and other higher ranking officers. We saw a few soldiers doing basic foot drills and marches. In the middle stands a tall tower with over two-hundred steps. Upon reaching the top, the only way down is by a scaling down the roof. There's a huge library which boast over a few hundred books. In the main complex, there is a cinema where you can catch the latest movies in 3D. There are different sorts of games which teach different value s, all which are important. It's a very innovative way to teach values in games rather than preaching them from a book. Unfortunately, we are unable to present any photos as picture taking was not allowed in the main gallery. Another interesting place is the shooting rang. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.
Leung Chi Loi (Tsuen Wai GSS)
We played many exciting games at the discovery center today. We played a game related to Enterprising. There was also a game digitally projected on a wheel where 5 to 7 people can play at the same time it was really challenging though as everyone had to work together to get the ball to the goal. The SAFTI bus ride was interesting too as we saw the army camp of future SAF officers which was very nice as I saw many monuments that represented the SAF and there were many outstanding structures there too
Tang Yi Ting (Belilios Public Sch)
I feel tired today. I really want to have more time to sleep. We have lessons with a broken teacher desk in front of me. It looks funny. I've learnt new things, such as science and geography. I 've no idea what the science lesson teach. I've never learn about atom and ion. But I am going to have a test tomorrow, so good luck to me!The Singapore Discovery Centre was really fun. The games are perfect. I hope I can come back with my family next time!
Wong Lok Yan (South Tuen Mun GSS)
Today I studyed about the whole day until the last period. After studying , we went to the Discovery Centre and played the games there. After playing,we grouped together. While we were grouping, an unlucky things happened on me----a bird shit on me,Ms Ho said I was lucky but I don't think so.=.="
LEUNG Wing Yi (Chiu Lut Sau Memorial SS - attached to Yio Chu kang Sec)
This afternoon , we went to the NEWater Visitors' Centre. I learnt about water and how important it is. The use of NEWater has helped to solve Singapore's water problem. I think this kind of visit is very educational and helps me to learn a lot .
Hoe Wai Yi (Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch) & LEUNG Kei Yan Karen (South Tuen Mun GSS)
After the morning assembly we had a PE lesson and played basketball. It was very hot felt and we felt tired. We also had some fun time. After that we had Maths and we cut some paper in different shapes. During recess we ate a bowl of noodles each. It tasted delicious.... after the recess we had science lesson. We learnt the differences between reflection and refraction. Finally during the Home Economic lesson we learned how to bake a cake. The activity was fun and exciting. In the afternoon we visited NEWater. The speaker was jovial and we enjoyed ourselves.
Eugene Pang (Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch)
Today we visited the Singapore Discovery Centre. It was better after it was renovated . It has more exhibits than the last time. Now I know more about Singapore history and things that people have invented.
Mak Yung Ka (Yuen Long Public S S -attached to Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
Tan Siew Leng (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
We went to the Discovery Center today. It is quite far away from our school. I have been there before but this the first time for Yung ka to visit it, she said that it was bigger then she thought. We have been to the shooting gallery to see some people to play the shooting games, and it liked a real war game. And had fun today.
Shanice (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
today we went to the NewWater VC. had about one hour tour. i get to know more about the processes of the water from newater. i've learned something today [:
Emily (Clementi Sec Sch)
It was my fifth day in the Singapore. I still went to school, but it had different lesson to learn. In thereading time, teacher gave us a paper. It was some song on it. And we sang together. Then, we had science lesson and maths lesson. After these lesson, it wasart lesson. Some classmates told me that my picturewas so cute, I was so happy about that :) But todayhad something that I felt sad :(, and I want to saysomething to all the people,"Marco is not myboyfriend!!!"I think it's not a joke.
Joycelyn Soh(Yio Chu kang Sec Sch) Today's trip to NEWater VC was fun and educational. The NEWater is different from the water that we usually drink. Its taste sweeter and nicer. Through the trip, I get to know more about how the water ( from the rivers, lakes and seas ) is processed and made into drinkable water. =D
Thurs 19th...We went to the Singapore Discovery Centre and had a tour around it today. It was actually quite interesting but at the same time, boring. The thing that I like most is the talking robot ( i forgot the name..=X ). He can answer any questions you ask him and also joke with you. Overall, the trip was fun though.
Li Ka Wing Karen (Tsuen Wan GSS - attached to Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)

Wong Pei Ting (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
We had Science test today. It was ok for me. Today Ms Lee and other teacherscame to our class to take some pictures. Then we went to the NEWater VC.This is my second time going there. There is nothing much to do there. So itwas quite boring for me. But I also learnt how reuse the water and the processes.
Valerie Chang (Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch) our school organised a trip to NEWater Plant. I've learnt how advance Singapore is. It's my first visit to the NEWater Plant. I think it's useful and enjoy the talks and video clips shown. In my opinion, I think it's interesting and the speaker has alot of humour which made everything so fun today.
Yeung Wing In (Chiu Lut Sau Memorial SS - attached to Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch)
I learnt the process of making NEWater and its advantages.Fristly, I didn't enjoy the show but later, I thought it was quite interesting and useful. The speaker was also humourous. All the friends talked in the bus and I understood them more.
On the19th July, I went to The Singapore Discovery Center. It is huge and beautiful. I took a lot of fantastic photos. However, the talk was a little bit boring. It was just something about the development of Singapore ,etc. Fortunately, I had lots of fun during the free time, like taking photos and walking around The Discovery Center. Anyway, it was a nice day
Sandy Wang (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)

Tan Siew Leng (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
We went to Newater Visitor Centre today after school. And we learnt about the process of producing Newater. In the middle of the trip, we got to try out the taste of it. It was not my first attempt drinking it, but it was for Yung Ka. She does not get used to drinking the and feels that there is a weird taste in it, and i agree too. After this meaningful trip, we learn to treasure the water as we decided not to waste anymore of it and ended up drinking Newater.
Lydia Yong (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
Today, we went to Singapore Discovery Centre after attending a fewlessons in school... Everything was fine but we had a very long day...Therefore, I am very tired... haha... hope I can get more sleep tomorrow asit would be a shorter day for us... Though its my first time going to theSingapore Discovery Centre, I enjoyed this trip... =) I love the games thatwe tried and the shows we watched... we toured around the SAFTI MI too...haha... I realised that I had been there a few years back... =) it looks so familiar... lol... overall, I had enjoyed myself and look forward to ournext outing... =)
Tan Siew Leng (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
it was because i am burning the midnight oil. i was revising for my biology test yesterday and yungka was watching a scv movie with my family. and there will be another midnight oil burning tonight for the geography test.
Joyclyn (Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
Today, we went to Singapore Discovery Centre. It was a rather long journey as it is located in Tuas. We had a tour around SAFTI. That was not my first time there as that was my brothers camp. Getting to go to Singapore Discovery Centre once again was a good experience. Singapore Discovery Centre had also changed alot. The difference I noticed between the Singapore and Hong Kong students is that they pay more attention to the teacher compared to the Singaporean students. Maybe its because they do not understand everything the teacher said as it was in english. My buddy is also ALOT quieter compared to us. I guess it is because she is not too used to the new environment.
Poon Kin Kwan (Minnie) (Tsuen Wan G S S - attached to Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)
Today is the second day for me to study in Pasir Ris Crest Secondary School and I began to feel that it was really quite fun to study here. At first, I didn't have many friends and it made me feel very lonely. But now, I had much more friends than before and I felt much better to study here.
Today, in the afternoon, we went to the Singapore Discovery Centre to have a visit there. In the Discovery Centre, we saw many things about Singapore and we also played many games. I think that it was really fun to visit there and I love the games there very much. They were extremely fun, especially the robot--Little George. I found it so amusing that it really knew how to respond people.
I feel very happy today becauseI think that I am getting to be involved in class and I hope that in the following few days, I can become good friend of everyone and have the most memorable time I ever have. >v< Leung Wai Shan (Tin Shui Wai G S S - attached to Pasir Ris Crest Sec Sch)

Marcus Tay (Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch),
Ng Ka Wai (Queen's College - attached to Yio Chu Kang Sec Sch)
today we visited the NewWater factory. There we saw many appealing and interesting things that kept both of us very very very very interested. we saw how our waste water like our urine and other unwanted liquid substances that we can obtain could be turned into pure drinking water, refined till its best.... However, there was a boy named kwan wai yu that kept disturbing us throughout the whole magical experience with such an interesting topic. Such chances do not come by everyday, therefore, we should cherish every second to the fullest, but we were appaled at his behaviour at the NewWater plant... but us, being very kind souls, we will forgive his childish and inmature acts...
