Today was yet another promising day with alot of ups and downs. we went to Greendale Secondary which frankly is a very new-looking school, and which pretty much resembles to my Primary school. We had a welcoming ceromony for the HK students and i got to know my buddy Wanita much more over the night and through out the day. She is quite a friendly and intellectual girl. i have learnt alot about the education system in HK. Did you know that in herschool they take 15 subjects and on top of that have to go for interviews and have to play a musical instrument in oder to enter and apply for her school? It’s quite strict and difficult if you ask me. In the second half of the day we got to go to Sentosa. We brought them to the Merlion and Images of Singapore, which i hope was an enriching time for them to understand more ofcultures of Singapore. We also had a chance to try out the Luge and Skyride. It was so fun and exciting!

I had my first night in the Muslim home, it's very different from my home. They use hands to eat and they like spicy food very much. Luckily, I accept spicy food. We went to Sentosa today and I like it very much. We visited the Merlion, Images of Singapore and Skyride. And, I am looking forward to tomorrow's swimming class.
Ho Wan Tung (Belilios Public School)
Today, we woke up at 6:00am. That's very early for me, but when I thought of today's trip, I woke up immediately. There would be a trip to Sentosa! Actually, I had been there before. I know it would be a happy trip full of fun!
We had breakfast at Jethra's home, then we went to school. There was a prize giving ceremony in school after the flag raising ceremony, and Jethra got a prize for speech. Congratulations to her!
We all went to another school in Punggol for the opening ceremony. We had lunch there too. The noodle was delicious, but a little bit too spicy for me, that I couldn't eat a lot.
After the lunch, we all got to Sentosa. We first visited the Images of Singapore. It was really nice, and educational. Then we visited the Merlion. It was the largest one in Singapore, and we could walk up to its head! We also took a lot of photos there. My memory card in the camera was unluckily full, that I had to delete some of the photos.
The third activity for us was taking the Luge. This was the most exciting part, and we had waited for it for the whole day. Unluckily, our teacher told us that we couldn't take it, because of the rain. We all felt so disappointed! But when we were waiting for the bus to go for the next activity, the Luge could be played! We couldn't wait to play it!
I could felt that God is with us for our whole trip, and always bring good to us. Thanks Father God~ ^.^

This afternoon, all HK students and their buddies went to Sentosa. We had enjoyed the Images of Singapore which show-cased what Singapore went through like the Japanese occupation and many other histories about how Singapore came about. We climbed up the Merlion. We all felt very amazing when we were on the top of the Merlion and saw the wonderful view. We also played the Sentosa Luge and Skyride. It’s an exhilarating ride. I had an unforgettable experience in Sentosa.

My journey with my buddy hase been wonderful. With her around, it's a great experience. Introducing food and culture was were my favourite. We provided her with the best we can give, and I think she is happy with it. She seems interested in the Sentosa trip today. But, as her waking up time is much later, she gets tired easily. Seeing her so interested in the trip, makes me feel happy as I know that Singapore is has many attractions for the tourists. She is quite shy, but at times, she asks questions freely. I think spending more time will her will enable us to know more about our families and our cultural differences. We both use dialects and I have taught her Hokkien, while she teaches me Cantonese. I think she will enjoy her stay in Singapore these two weeks.

Today is my second day in Singapore. I was woken up by Leonard's mobile phone early in the morning. I went washing and got dressed, then I woke Leonard and Norman up. They were sleeping deeply and seemed like they didn't want to wake up at all. What lazy people! We had an assembly in Tampines Secondary School. The whole school sang the National Anthem. I would like to learn singing the song so that I can join the students. After the assembly, we went to the canteen to have a briefing. We took a bus to Greendale Secondary School to participate in the Welcome Ceremony. We went to Sentosa in the afternoon. We went to the Image of Singapore first. There was a lazer show that looked 3D. At the end of the show, golden rings were shot out from the stage but, when we tried to catch them, they disappeared. After that we went to another hall. There were many wax models inside. I wanted to take photos but my camera was out of electric power. I wished I had charged my camera the previous night. We then went to the Merlion. It was chilly in the Merlion and I don't understand why the air-conditioner was set in such a cold condition. We watched a video about the name of Singapore and the Merlion. It was a bit amusing. We took an elevator to the top of the Merlion afterwards. The view there was amazing. It was sunny and I could see the blue sky and the sea clearly. That was a view that I could hardly see in Hong Kong. Leonard and I took a photo in the mouth of the Merlion. We were planning to buy a photo but when we saw the price in the souvenir shop, we decided not to. We went to play the Luge after that. It was very exciting because the cart ran very fast. Leonard drove away very fast and I could not catch up with him. We took the Skyride to get back to the starting point of the Luge. While we were on the Skyride, we saw someone sitting in front of us dropped a helmet! We got on the bus and went back to Tampines at 6 p.m.I'll never forget this trip to Sentosa.

Firstly, I felt very very happy and exicted today because of the wonderful trip. Personally, I like the luge most because it really exciting indeed and I have never try such thing in HK before. And the other site I like most is the Merlion, it is mainly due to its magnificent outlook, the fantastic video show inside and also the souvenirs in the shop. Those things are great and I have never seen before.
Next to The Fort Siloso, it was used to protect Singapore from Japanese invasion in the past. I saw many wax figures there and they all look lively. And the canons look powerful. Everything is great and new to me.
As about my feeling towards the Image of Singapore, I think it is a great place. We can know many things about Singapore inside it. There are many wax figures and they look beautiful and lively also. There is also a very funny person who would pretend to be a figure and scare you suddenly, that gave me a deep impression.
Generally, today's trip is marvellous.

well, today is the first day of the activities. Sentosa trip is very interesting and fun too. First, we went to the Merlion statue and watch a short video of how the Merlion was started. Secondly, this part was the most exciting part as we get to play the luge ride and the sky ride. We had a lot of fun and we took pictures together. Thirdly, we went to the images of Singapore. We learnt many things about the history of Singapore, such as the lifestyle during the past. Lastly, we took a shuttle bus to the Fort Siloso to see and understand of why the british built the machinery at the fort siloso. And off we went back to school.

After a night at my house, although there wasn't much time, i felt that the bond between us was somehow, stronger than when we first met. After reaching school, we gathered together with the other Hong Kong exchange programme students. We set off for Greendale Secondary School soon after assembly ended. We also had the opening ceremony for the exchange programme. We went to Sentosa after the briefing ended. We went to the Merlion, Luge, Images of Singapore and also the Fort Siloso. The place was new to the Hong Kong students and throughout the journey, a lot of snapping of pictures was involved.

We did not have lessons today as we went to Sentosa for an outing. If only we can have outings everyday. After all the rides in Sentosa , we went to the final destination at Fort Siloso. Due to the lack of time, we could only briefly look around. But as we did not want to miss anything interesting in there, we walked as quickly as we could. And "somethinginteresting" really happened in the tunnel. We went in there and saw "something". But do not get the wrong idea of "something". We actually saw some bats flying in the tunnel, we were so afraid and ran off for our lives. It seems to be adventurous rather than an interesting trip.
Li Ka Wing (Tsuen Wan GSS)
Today, we attended the welcome ceremony and visited Sentosa. I liked the performances so much, especially the part of dancing. They cooperated well .After that, we went to Sentosa, one of the most famous attractions in Singapore. I enjoyed the Sky Ride. I could look around and I was admired by the fabulous scenery. It was totally different from Hong Kong. It was a great place.
Tan Ming Kwang (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
Today is a tiring yet adventurous day as we embarked towards the renowned 'Sentosa'. The day begins when the clock strikes 6.15am. The alarm rang and both of us woke up. We took turns to use the bathroom and then went to school. My buddy had a taste of some 'weird' typical Singaporean personality as my friend talks to him. We then went to Greendale Secondary School and get pleased by the perfomances though some mistakes were inevitable. I tried to control my laughter haha. The weather was humid and I kept sweating profusely. We then proceed to the main event, Sentosa. I have not been to Sentosa for quite some time and I was amazed at how much it had developed. I went around exploring Sentosa as my droplets of sweat rolled down my chubby face. It was a tiring day and I hope to rest earlier.
Situ Jun (Queen's College)
Today is the second day in the exchange progamme.Me and my buddy woke up at 6:15am.We finished showing and brushing our teeth, then we went to school. After that, we took bus and came to Greendale Secondary Schooland. The welcome ceremony for Hong Kong students was fascinating.Especially the drum performance.when we finished the ceremony. Today i'm very tired. Today's weather is very hot. My favourite place at theSentosa is the Sentosa Luge. It's my first time riding on it. The thingsthere are very expensive. I also enjoy riding on the skyride. The view isvery beautiful. It is also very windy. I was afraid the my slippers woulddrop too. That was the most relaxing place for me.

Thoughts from the students......
We ate spicy crab, herbal prawns, yong tou foo soup and some fried fish for dinner, also chocolate cake for desert. We went to the night market after that, and Yung Ka bought 3 pairs of earings for her sister. I bought Otah for Yung Ka and she loved it, but she said that it was too spicy. I also bought a personal key chain for her as a souvenir. And we went home after that, and email you. Aren't we hardworking?

15/7 Sunday Sunny
The Start of the trip
Today is the day I took aeroplane to Singapore. I have joined this program---the Singapore and Hong Kong Students Exchange Program. Every students in this program has a buddy of Hong Kong or Singapore. My buddy, Jethra, who is a Singaporian, was waiting to me in Singapore. I was getting there today.
I have sent several e-mails with Jethra before the trip, but we hadn't see each other before. I felt very excited to meet a friend who I never met, and was from a different nation with me~!
I had to wake up at 5:30am. It was really early to me, because I had packed my things till 12:30am the night before! I didn't feel sleepy, although I dodn't get enough sleep. I was feeling too exc ited!!!
Students met their buddies at Tampines Sec School, which I will be at for the next two weeks. I met Jethra there. I discovered that she is a friendly girl. She talked a lot with me, and cared much about me, so as her family too. Her interest met mine, and we quickly became good friends.
Jethra's family took me to a Chinese restaurant for dinner, after I settled at their home. I dodn't feel uncomfortable with them. We just liked a family. After the delicious dinner, they took me to the Merlion along the coast. It was very beautiful at night. I took a lot of photos of it.
I felt really happy with Jethra's family. I wanted to give a big thanks to them, as they took me to these places.
Tomorrow will be the open ceremony of the program, and Jethra told me that we have to woke up at six in the morning. I must take a good sleep tonight.
Jethra Chan (Tampines Sec School)
Sunday was a very exciting day! i was antisipating for my Hong Kong buddy in school. i was practically dying of excitement when we had to sit down for so long and wait for the HK students. i was very delighted to receive my new HK friend: wan tung. aka wanita. She is very polite and cheery as well as honest about her feelings on singapore and life in HK. I'm glad that she is my buddy and look forward to the two weeks!
Akmalina Zuhrah (Tampines Sec)
I was so excited to meet her! I’ve been dying to meet her. We have been emailing for a week, and it is really nice to finally meet her. We went for pizza and i think she loved it. She looked so happy. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring.
Tang Yi Ting (Belilios Public School)
Hello, Singapore. I said that when the plane landed. I was so excited to see my buddy, Akmalina. When I first saw her, I think she looks cute, but shorter and thiner than me. At first, we don't have much to talk. How poor it is! And sometime it was difficult to hear what they say. Hope the situation change soon.
Donald Cheung Hok Lai (Queen's College)
I arrived at Singapore Changji Airport at about three. It was pretty hot in Singapore. I kept sweating and have to fan myself. After waiting for other students, we take the bus to Tampines Secondary School. I met my buddy Leonard Teo and his family there. We went back home at four. Leonard's home is much larger than mine. Mr. and Mrs. Teo were very kind to me. Leonard's brother was a bit naughty but I think I can live with him well in the following days.We went to Feng Shan Centre for dinner. We ate some Singapore delicacies. I liked them very much except the chilli sauce. It is very spicy that made me cough.
Situ Jun (Queen's College) & Tan Ming Kwang(Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
I am the exchange student from Hong Kong.
Today, I met my buddy in Singapore.
We had basic interaction with each other.
He's parents took me to a shopping centre's food court and let me tried specialities in Singapore like chicken rice.
I also learned a lot knowledge of the culture of Singapore people.
I had a great time.
Today is a busy day yet full of excitement and anticipation. I went to tuition earlier today and came back home to prepare to recieve the VIP who will be staying in my house for the next 2 weeks. I tidied up my room and hope that it is presentable to the guest. He is a kind yet cheerful person, something which I had hoped for. After receiving him, my family and I went to a nearby Shopping Centre and took him to try out the delicacies found in Singapore. He ate Hainanese Chicken Rice. After that we took a while to visit some of the shops available there. Though we did not know much about one another, we still had a good time together. Hope we can cherish that moment for another 2 weeks.
Yik Man Ting (South Tuen Mun GSS) & Wong Pei Ting (Serangoon Garden Sec Sch)
I feel very excited today because it's my first day of the trip. All the things are very unforgetable. The students there are all very friendly. After I find peiting,we go to school and we go home. After that ,we go toAng Mo Kio to have our dinner and shopping.[Man Ting]
I feel very excited because it's my first time participating in an exchangeprogramme. We were quite shy when we first met each other. We went out to AngMo Kio to shop. Irene finds that the things sold there are very expensive. So she didn't buy anything. [Pei Ting]
